Renta Urban Land Design, a small, creative landscape architecture and planning firm in Birmingham, Alabama, is interviewing students and recent graduates for an internship or entry-level landscape designer position. Our ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver who loves creating memorable places where people want to be.

Summer internship candidates should be completing their third or fourth year of undergraduate study in landscape architecture.  Students entering an MLA program with a design-based undergraduate degree will be equally considered; students in an MLA program with another undergraduate background should have completed at least one year of their graduate studies in landscape architecture.

Entry-level candidates are those who expect to complete their degree program before beginning employment.

All candidates must be proficient with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications; Vectorworks, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other 2D/3D drafting and/or modeling software; and demonstrate the ability to create effective graphic and written communications.

Candidates will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of project types including city greenway master plans, bioretention and storm remediation projects, park and recreation designs, and large commercial and mixed-use developments.

Please send a cover letter, resume and portfolio/work samples (total file size 15 MB or less) to stephen@renta-uld.com. We will conduct initial interviews for candidates outside the Birmingham area by teleconference (FaceTime or Zoom) before scheduling in-person interviews.
