PINE CREEK WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

This landscape plan was part of a major plant expansion to nearly double the capacity of wastewater treatment, accounting for 30 years of projected growth. Significant funding for the site development was provided by a Clean Water State Revolving Fund grant administered through the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM). The irrigation system uses greywater from treatment processes and relies on a planting palette of about 95% native species, minimizing water demand and creating one of the region’s most lushly planted water treatment facilities.
