MCLURE LIBRARY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA

This project comprehensively renovated the historic 1925 McLure Library, preserving its brick and limestone character while addressing deferred maintenance. It allowed for the relocation of the School of Library and Information Sciences from the 7th floor of Gorgas Library to McLure in accordance with the Gorgas Library Master Plan. Upgrades included new building systems, windows, accessibility, vertical circulation, and an elevator. A sensitively designed addition introduced a new entrance, plaza, and gathering space without altering the University Boulevard façade.
