MOUNTAIN BROOK FIRE STATION #2

Mountain Brook Fire Station No. 2 replaces an aging facility with a cost‑effective, modern station that maintains continuous service while fitting seamlessly into its residential context. Thoughtful site planning preserved mature trees, integrated neighborhood‑scaled landscaping and materials, and incorporated surface‑based stormwater strategies that reduced underground detention by two‑thirds. Close collaboration among the design team and city officials resulted in a quiet, community‑focused civic landmark. This project is also an AIA Award Winner.
